With this series of photographs, ORLAN has created a link between the “old” and the “new,” making different times visible within the same space-time. She has blended the religious vocabulary with the profane sculptural vocabulary (such as that of the plastic) in order to highlight the underlying sensuality of religious iconography, drawing on the principles of the Baroque, where one was not made to choose between good and evil.
