Eigentlich ist Gregor Zivic Maler. Mit dem Medium Fotografie setzt er sich bereits seit 1997 auseinander, da vor allem die Probleme der Reduzierung von Gemälden durch das Medium Fotografie ihn von Anbeginn beschäftigt hatten. Als Schnittstelle zwischen dem malerischen und fotografischen Diskurs hat Zivic einen heterogenen transmediellen Prozess entwickelt

The banal scenarios, often alluding to memories of his childhood, play not only with the perspective of photography, but with the moment of movement and with pictorial simulation. Spaces specially constructed for the takes address the theme of the media and the visual constituents of space, time and perception, whereby Zivic uses photography in the classical, documentary sense, without any digital or other interventions into the image. Nevertheless, he is still concerned with reflecting on the conditions of the photographic image in the face of virtual reality.
